Grammar, logic, and rhetoric for every grade

From Pre-K3 through 9th grade, our classical curriculum forms thinkers, not just test-takers. Follow the path your child will travel, one stage at a time.

The Classical Difference

We teach students how to think, not what to think.

Classical education is not a subject. It is a way of learning that has formed thoughtful men and women for centuries. It follows the trivium: three stages that match the way children actually grow, so every year builds on the one before it.

From Pre-K3 through 9th grade, we move with your child through knowledge, then understanding, and toward wisdom.

The Trivium Journey

Find where your child begins.

Pick a grade to see the stage your child is in, what those years hold, and the subjects they study.

In Pre-K3, your child begins in the Grammar stage.

In Pre-K4, your child is in the Grammar stage.

In Kindergarten through 2nd grade, your child is in the Grammar stage.

In 3rd through 6th grade, your child is in the Grammar stage.

In 7th through 9th grade, your child is in the Logic stage.

The horizon every VCA student is formed toward, offered as VCA grows beyond 9th grade.

Grammar , Knowledge

The wonder years. Children are built to memorize, chant, and marvel, so we fill these years with the facts and stories everything later is built on. Phonics becomes reading, numbers become arithmetic, and the world opens up one true thing at a time.

Logic , Understanding

The questioning years. Students now want to know why, so we teach them to reason. They learn to follow an argument, spot a fallacy, and defend a claim with evidence and grace, in every subject from algebra to history.

Rhetoric , Wisdom

The expression years. With minds full of knowledge and the tools to reason, students learn to speak and write with clarity, beauty, and conviction. Rhetoric is the goal every VCA student is formed toward: a good man or woman who speaks well.

Offered as VCA grows. Today we serve Pre-K3 through 9th grade.

A Christian Worldview

Scripture is woven into every subject, not taught beside it.

In mathematics and music, history and science, students meet the same Author. A Biblical worldview is the lens, not a separate lesson.

Programs & Schedule

One education. Three ways to attend.

Every student receives the same classical, Christ-centered curriculum. What changes is how many days a week you are on campus, and how much enrichment fills the week out. Here is what each way offers, and who it is for.

Schedule: on campus for Classical Core Monday, Wednesday, Friday.

Classical Core

Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays, 8:00am-3:00pm

The academic heart of a VCA education. Three focused days of classical instruction that build critical thinking on the great books and ideas, across math, science, language arts, history, and the arts, all rooted in a Biblical worldview.

Best for

Families who want the full classical foundation on a part-week rhythm, with the other days at home.

Schedule: Enrichment Days Tuesday, Thursday.

Enrichment Days

Tuesdays & Thursdays, 8:00am-3:00pm

Two days that round out the week: art, music, foreign language, and physical education, plus guided study time and personalized support from our teachers. Built to complement Classical Core.

Best for

VCA families adding days, and homeschool families who want classical enrichment without enrolling full time.

Open to homeschoolers. See how →
The complete week Schedule: on campus for Classical Core Monday, Wednesday, Friday; Enrichment Days Tuesday, Thursday.

Classical Core + Enrichment Days

The complete week. Classical Core and Enrichment together: five days of academics, arts, language, PE, and guided study, with the most individualized support we offer.

Best for

Families seeking a full-time alternative to public education, who want VCA to be their child's whole school experience.

Homeschooling? Join us Tuesdays and Thursdays.

The Enrichment Days above are also our open door for homeschool families. Enroll separately, two days a week, for guided study time and classes in art, music, foreign language, and more. A student does not need to be full-time at VCA to join.

Homeschool students in grades 4 through 8 can also join the Vintage Warriors across every ACAA sport except archery. Participation is $300 per sport, with an academic eligibility form due every three weeks through the season.
